Study to Show Yourself Approved |

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim 2:15 NKJV) |

"In 2 Timothy 2:15 Paul exhorts Timothy to "Study to show
yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." In our day and age, many believers have fallen prey to a
spirit of passivity. The people don't want to pay the price necessary to become disciplined in study. Furthermore, today in our lukewarm "Laodicean" (Revelation 3:14)
Christian society, most believers will no longer "endure sound doctrine" (2 Timothy 4:3). |

"We must not permit ourselves to become like the majority of believers who derive their 'truth' from their
emotions, which resides within them. But we must discover truth from the objective Word of God, which is a source outside of ourselves. Also, we must not let a
denominational emphasis, nor the experiences of life determine our foundation for truth. We must follow the lead of these "noble-minded Bereans"
(Acts 17:10-11), who "searched the scriptures daily," seeking for truth. The Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said it
better than anyone else could, "What does the Scripture say?" (Galatians 4:30)." |
